Susanne M. Klausen is professor of history at Carleton University in Ottawa. Her research interests include:

If you think this sounds interesting, be sure to check out …
Prof. Klausen looks at other aspects of racism and birth control in South Africa in a second lecture September 23. South African theologian Isabel Phiri will discuss HIV/AIDS, violence against women, and notions of masculinity in Africa September 17. Prof. Phiri also speaks about women and theology in South Africa on September 15 and September 18. Provocate may not be sure what “heteropatriarchy” is, but chances are it will be relevant in a discussion of women and Islam October 21.
