December 11 — Hear from Rebecca Ryan when the next generation of civic leaders will emerge
Rebecca Ryan is the guru of the Creative Class as Gen X’ers come to the fore.
When: Thursday December 11, 12:00-1:30 PM
Where: Indiana Convention Center, 100 South Capitol Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46225
From the Economic Club blurb:
Rebecca Ryan is an energetic entrepreneur and the founder of Next Generation Consulting. In 2007, Rebecca became a 2EO, with responsibilities for sales, marketing and positioning. Ryan summarized her firm’s research in her 2007 book, Live First, Work Second: Getting Inside the Minds of the Next Generation. Dr. Richard Florida, author of the best-seller, The Rise of the Creative Class and The Flight of the Creative Class wrote the forward to Ms. Ryan’s book. He writes, “I am a HUGE Rebecca Ryan fan,” and considers “NGC one of the most reliable sources for CEO’s, mayors, legislators, economic developers and non-profit leaders who want to attract and retain the next generation of creative workers.” Rebecca was named the 2004 Entrepreneur of the Year by the U.S. Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship and the 2006 Communicator of the Year by Women in Communication.
Why does Provocate think you should attend this event?
The Arts Council of Indianapolis hired Next Generation Consulting to prepare a study of Engaging the Next Generation of Arts Audiences. For better or worse, this has shaped a lot of the thinking in arts and other organizations around Indianapolis. Next Generation is preparing an Arts Audiences Summit for Indianapolis in 2009, so it’s a good time to engage Ms Ryan in a discussion of how to move from passive audiences to active creative problem-solvers.
