July 15-17 - “Off the Streets”
Who could put together a better play on homelessness than the homeless? That’s why the cast of “Misfortunes,” a play concerning fortune cookies, includes homeless people who know what it’s like to be in the roles they’re playing onstage.
The professional theatre troupe calling themselves “Off the Streets” is made up of people who are or have been homeless, plus a couple kids from Zionsville, and will perform on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 7:00.The Peace House’s new favorite venue, Lockerbie Central UMC, is once again hosting this social-justice-promoting event.
Check out the Off the Streets website.
Read Nuvo’s blurb about this group and learn how someone formerly drafted into the NBA got involved.
Showing at Lockerbie United Methodist Church, 237 N. East St. $10 admission.
