When non-Muslim Americans realize how much Islam and Judaism have in common with Christianity and Judaism, they are almost always surprised.  Professor Akbar Ahmed (former guest on Oprah) had this to say about the commonalities:  All the essentials: the same God; the same set of values; the same emphasis on family life; the same emphasis on justice, tolerance. Islam is a continuation of the Judeo-Christian tradition. America, in fact, is a Judeo-Christian-Islamic nation, so there are a lot of similarities. Join this lively discussion with local practitioners and experts on the subject.
