February 24 — Mastora Bakhiet on Darfur

With the largest population of refugees from Darfur living in the US, you’d expect Fort Wayne to be a seedbed of ideas and activities to help that strife-town chunk of Sudan. And you’d be right. Mastora Bakhiet explains the latest initiative to be launched from Darfur Central.

When: Sunday, February 24 at 1:30 PM

Where: Common Ground Christian Church 6151 N. Central Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46220 Common Ground is located on the corner of Westfield and Central in Broadripple. Please enter through the glass doors on the northside of the building.

Mastora Bakhiet is coming to Indianapolis to speak about a new non- profit organizaion in Fort Wayne called Darfur Women Peace & Development Network. Fort Wayne has the largest Darfuri refugee population in the States. This organization has two goals: to help refugees from Sudan living in Fort Wayne, and to help alleviate suffering in Darfur. Also to be discussed wil be the current situation in Sudan and Chad. We will discuss upcoming advocacy events and campaigns.

This is open to the public, although the Indiana Coalition to Save Darfur allows you to accept this invitation here. For more information contact Carol Collins.
