Eynat Shlein-Michael is Counselor, Political Affairs in the Embassy of Israel to the United States. She is a career diplomat in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, specializing in Israeli-Arab relations and American Affairs. Born and raised in Israel, served three years in the IDF. Joined the ministry in 1992. Currently she is posted as Counselor for Middle Eastern Affairs at the Embassy of Israel, Washington DC. In this capacity she follows US foreign policy vis-à-vis the Middle East, as well as bilateral relations with relevant countries, consulting, analyzing and briefing officials, analysts and diplomats in the US administration, think tanks and foreign missions. Prior to her assignment to Washington, she served as a senior analyst at the Center for Political Research at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2000-2003). Between 1997-1999, Ms. Shlein-Michael was posted as Consul at the Consulate General of Israel to New England in Boston, MA. From 1995-1997, Ms. Shlein-Michael was posted as Second Secretary for Political Affairs at the Embassy of Israel in Amman, Jordan. During her first 18 months, she also served as acting Commercial Attaché’ to Jordan. Prior to that she was posted in various positions in the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem, including serving as a desk officer in the Israeli-Arab Relations division and as a personal assistant to the head of the Political Research Center. She has a Master in Public Administration (2000), Kennedy School of Governmnet, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, USA. Major area of concentration: Negotiation and Conflict Resolution. Fellow, the Wexner-Israel scholarship program. Bachelor in Middle Eastern History, magna cum laude (1991), Tel Aviv University, Israel.
