February 11 — Fostering Civil Discourse: Special Series on Understanding Stem Cell Research Prospects and Ethics (part 1)
What is all the fuss about stem cells and what does it matter? Dr. David Ingram, one of the world’s premier stem cell researchers, explains both the science and the ethics of stem cell research with clarity and sensitivity.

On February 11, Dr. David Ingram will present the fascinating world of stem cell research and explain the challenges, dilemmas, and hopes that stem cells pose for curing disease. The following week, on February 18, he will clarify the ethical dilemmas posed by the way stem cells are derived and how they are used, or might be used. Along the way, he will lay out in a sensitive and balanced fashion the various ethical responses as articulated by different faith communities and by medical ethics, as well as legal implications.
