January 18 to February 29 — “Marching Toward Justice” photo exhibit
The national touring exhibit recounting the history of the struggle for social justice and equality in America will stop in Indianapolis next week for a six-week exhibit at IUPUI.

Where: IUPUI, Cultural Arts Gallery, Room 240 of the Campus Center, 420 University Blvd.
This display, a tribute to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, includes more than 100 photographs and other images from the Damon J. Keith Law Collection of African-American Legal History. The documents tell the story of those who committed themselves to the creation and enforcement of the 14th Amendment. The story begins with the arrival of captive Africans to English colonial America in 1619 and ends with the admittance of nine African American students to Central High in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1957.
Wayne State University in Detroit created The Keith Collection, the only one of its kind in the United States, to serve as a central repository for the nation’s African-American legal history. The Keith Collection created the Marching Toward Justice Exhibit to inform the public about the importance of the 14th amendment and the nation’s ongoing quest to realize the Declaration of Independence ideals of “justice and equality for all.”
Admission to the exhibit is free of charge and open to the general public. The exhibit is open for viewing during regular IUPUI Campus Center hours. For hours, call (317) 278-2533.
