February 26 — Shakespeare in the Courtroom

The American Shakespeare Center Touring Troupe features actors of the Shakespeare Center at the Blackfriars Playhouse. This exciting, troupe of professional actors tours universities throughout the United States offering students and faculty alike (from all disciplines and majors), the opportunity to see Shakespeare come alive.

Where: IU School of Law, Inlow Hall, IUPUI

The American Shakespeare Center — through its performances, theatres, exhibitions, and educational programs — seeks to make Shakespeare, the joys of theatre and language, and the communal experience of the Renaissance stage accessible to all. By re-creating Renaissance conditions of performance, the ASC explores its repertory of plays for a better understanding of these great works and of the human theatrical enterprise past, present, and future.

“Shakespeare in the Courtroom” from The Merchant of Venice, 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at InLow Hall, 530 W. New York St., on the IUPUI campus. Featuring the courtroom scene from Merchant followed by a panel discussion with the actors and faculty of the IU School of Law – Indianapolis. Free and open to the public.
