Will the US pull back from Iraq, in whatever condition it may find itself? Or will we be debating “the endgame in Iraq” 20 years from now? Local Mid-East expert Pierre Atlas knows.

Pierre Atlas is director of the Richard Lugar Franciscan Center for Global Studies at Marian College and the leading expert on Middle East politics in Central Indiana.
This is part of the Church of the Saviour’s Great Decisions series. “Great Decisions” is a series of eight foreign policy topics selected by the Foreign Policy Association. The FPA commissions very solid articles about each topic, then assembles the articles into booklets that are used by a thousand groups around the country to explore the topics. It’s an excellent program, definitely worth engaging. What sets the Church of the Saviour’s program apart is that is a combination of adults and Lawrence North High School students. It’s the best interaction of older and younger learners that I know of in Indy.
Cost for the series is $28 for individuals and families, which includes the FPA’s Great Decisions book.
Know before you go … Read some of the current articles about the fighting in Iraq and see of Prof. Atlas’s longer term recommendations fit with late breaking facts on the ground. (They probably will.)
