February 1 — Carribean Landscapes: A New Interpretive Atlas of the Caribbean
Reflections and notes from a new book that is the first of its kind for the Caribbean: an interpretive introduction to the natural and human landscapes of the region based on new high-resolution satellite photographs, ground photographs, maps, and interpretive essays (focus especially on Cuba).

The IU School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI presents the 2007-2008 Sabbatical Speaker Series featuring:
Timothy Brothers is Associate Professor of Geography at IUPUI. He researches causes of tropical deforestation in Dominican Republic, which leads naturally to an interest in the vegetation differences between the Dominican Republic (green) and Haiti (brown). He also looks at successional recovery of tropical forest following human disturbance in the Dominican Republic, and Human Impact and Biogeography of Cuba.
