Rapidly growing, ambitious, and unpredictable … China got you worried? Chances are no one worries more and thinks more clearly than the Taiwanese. Hear their virtual ambassador to the US explain their concerns, and why the US needs a strong friend in Taiwan.

Dr. Jaushieh Joseph Wu, Taiwan Representative to the United States [the equivalent of Taiwan’s ambassador to the US], will speak about “Taiwan and the U.S. - Partners in Security, Prosperity, and Democracy.” Wu is a politician specializing in Taiwan’s political development, cross-strait relations, international relations, and Middle East politics. Wu’s past positions include chairman of Taiwan’s Mainland Affairs Council, Deputy Secretary-General to the president, and several teaching, research, and leadership roles at National Chengchi University in Taiwan. He has also authored and edited various publications. Wu holds three political science degrees; a B.A. from National Chengchi University, a M.A. from University of Missouri, St. Louis, and a Ph.D. from Ohio State University.
