November 9 — “The Business of Art and the Art of Business”

For more than 20 years, Halima Taha has contributed to the field as an appraiser, art advisor, educator and lecturer. Currently president of halima ink, a professional arts and education company, she comes to Indianapolis to discuss her views on art and commerce.

Where: IUPUI Herron School of Art and Design, Frank and Katrina Basile Auditorium of Eskenazi Hall, 735 W. New York St.

A leading authority on African American art and arts management, Halima Taha, will present “The Business of Art and the Art of Business” at the fourth annual Jordan H. and Joan R. Leibman Forum at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). John Thompson, art collector and owner of the Thompson Collection, will also speak.

A reception at 7 p.m. in the Grand Hall will allow attendees to enjoy music, art and food.

The Jordan H. and Joan R. Leibman Forum was established at IUPUI in 2004 to examine issues on the legal and business environment of the arts, and is a joint project of the IU Kelley School of Business Indianapolis, the IU School of Law-Indianapolis and the IU Herron School of Art and Design.
