October 5 — African Politics in Comparative Perspective

Goran Hyden, Ph.D., is Professor of Political Science at the University of Florida. He is the author of Governance And Politics In Africa, No Shortcuts To Progress: African Development Management In Perspective, and Beyond Ujamaa In Tanzania: Underdevelopment and an Uncaptured Peasantry. He is also past president of the African Studies Association.

Where: IUPUI ES 2132, the global crossroads classroom, near the Office of International Affairs

IUPUI Prof. Scott Pegg has arranged with all four of the authors of the principal African political science books used in his African Politics seminar course to join the students this semester as guest speakers on live video connections from their respective campuses. Anyone who would like to hear the guest speakers and/or see how the polycom technology actually works in practice is welcome to attend.
