October 31 — Is America the New Roman Empire … and Is it Declining and Falling?
The similarities between the United States and Imperial Rome are too obvious to overlook: unmatched military dominance, cultural hegemony, economic superiority, etc. Does this mean we are an empire? What does that mean for democracy? And what does it mean to Indianapolis if the American Empire is on the decline?
When: Wednesday October 31 (Halloween, wear a toga), noon
Where: Christ Church Cathedral 125 Monument Circle Indianapolis 46204
The Internaitonal Center of Indianapolis hosts a lunch with John Clark of Provocate. More details to follow.
