December 1 — World AIDS Day Card Making Activity

So you are a parent who would like your kids to learn about the world, to connect with people who are suffering? But you don’t want your children to hang out with college students at IUPUI, or have to listen to a speech by Randall Tobias? IU-Kenya program and the Indianapolis Museum of Art have a great program for you at the Main Library.

When: Monday December 1, 1:00-3:00 PM

Where: Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library (Central Branch) Atrium 40 E. St. Clair Street Indianapolis

In the name of World AIDS Day, individuals of all ages are invited to make a colorful card to send to a Kenyan living with HIV. This program is co-presented by the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the IU-Kenya Partnership, and IMCPL.

Why does Provocate think you should attend this event?
Not that Provocate wants to get preachy or anything, but … It’s never too early for children to start learning about the world, never too soon to learn to feel empathetic with those who are suffering, and never too soon to learn that we can make a difference in the lives of individuals who are sick. Expect serious artists to be present to help unleash your child’s (and your) creativity, and expect to be able to talk with Kenyans who can explain how special it will be for sick Kenyan kids and grown-ups to receive a hand-made card form Indianapolis.
