October 2 — NBC Chief Medical Editor Dr. Nancy Snyderman on “Medical Myths That Can Kill You”

Dr. Nancy Snyderman, NBC News and TODAY Show Chief Medical Editor and a native of Fort Wayne, will focus on easy-to-implement health care changes.

Methodist Hospital , Methodist Health Foundation and Honorary Event Chairperson, Mrs. Larry Bird will present Dr. Nancy Snyderman on Thursday, October 2 for the 2008 Focus on Health Symposium. A luncheon at 11:30 a.m. and lecture at 2:00 p.m., both fund raisers for Methodist Hospital Task Core, take place at Scottish Rite Cathedral.


Dr. Snyderman, NBC News and TODAY Show Chief Medical Editor and a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, will be featured throughout the day for a series of speaking engagements that serve as both fund raisers and educational opportunities. Her 11:30 a.m. luncheon presentation is expected to focus on easy-to-implement health care changes and takes place in the Ballroom at Scottish Rite Ballroom. Corporate tables are available for $1,000 and individual seats are $100. WTHR anchor, Anne Marie Tiernon will emcee the luncheon.


The 2 p.m. lecture in Scottish Rite Theatre features Snyderman’s new book, Medical Myths That Can Kill You and the 101 Truths that will Save, Extend and Improve Your Life. Reserved tickets are $40 and include a book signing after the lecture, which will include audience questions and participation.


Dr. Snyderman, a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, will also tour Methodist Hospital during her visit to Indiana and provide a motivational speech to Methodist and Clarian Health nurses, emphasizing the need to treat their personal health needs in order to deliver preeminent care to patients.
