November 14 — “The Politics of Piety: Nation, Race, and Philanthrophy in the Work of the Gustav Adolf Association in the German Diaspora, 1832-1945.”

The work of the Gustav Adolf Association supported German Protestants living under Catholic rule. This mission evolved from maintaining the faith and integrity of these religious communities to nationalist advocacy for the revival of German colonization in Eastern Europe.
