Through September 2 — Flock to the Indy Fringe Festival!

No matter how tired and stodgy you may be feeling, there’s no better way to awaken your sleeping hipster than the Indianapolis Theatre Fringe Festival, which is engulfing the Massachusetts Ave Arts District through September 2.

When: Through September 2, starting in the day, ending at night

Where: The festival centers on six stages at five venues—the American Cabaret Theatre, the Auditorium at the Athenaeum, Theatre on the Square (Main Stage and Stage II), ComedySportz Indianapolis, and the Phoenix Theatre. FringeFilm, in association with the Indianapolis International Film Festival, located in the sanctuary of Lockerbie United Methodist Church.

There’s a $3 general fee, $10 pershow, which last around an hour.

IndyFringe is bigger and better than ever. More international acts (six), more out-of-state acts (14) and more acts overall (40). Uncertain about plunking down $10 for a play you’ve never heard of? Check out Mass Ave. on the weekend, when street performers entertain with magic, juggling, sword swallowing and more. FringeNext (a youth theater showcase), Visual Fringe (a multi-venue art exhibition) and FringeFilm (a film festival) add to the fun.
