April 12: Angela McBride reads from “Growth and Development of Nurse Leaders”
Prof. McBride’s book focuses on developing nurse leaders. It draws on the author’s extensive leadership experience as an internationally recognized nurse scholar and pragmatist to help all nurses develop their leadership abilities. The book’s three sections address the major views of leadership that have occupied center stage in recent decades: leadership as personal; leadership as achieving organizational goals; and leadership as transformational. It references both literature and personal experiences that bring timely issues to focus, from career stages and mentoring needs, to developmental tasks by career trajectory, and more.

April 18: Health Disparities for LGBT Community forum will foster the development of a coalition of medical, academic, and community/business leaders in order to improve the health outcomes of the LGBT community.
April 26: Indiana—The Birthplace of Translational Research in Mental Health Lucy Jane King, MD and Alan Schmetzer, MD will discuss and sign copies of their new book Dr. Edenharter’s Dream: How Science Improved the Humane Care of the Mentally Ill in Indiana, 1896-2012.
May 5: “Follow the Leader” “Follow the Leader” offers insight into how clergy and lay leaders are authorized to lead by those who follow them. This workshop will explore the processes of followers calling, nurturing and authorizing their leaders and empower participants for leading their own congregations in increasingly effective ministry and mission.
